My journey into photo production began in Los Angeles, inside rental houses, prep bays, and long days on set where I learned gear, lighting, sound, and the rhythm of real production. Those years built discipline, sharpened my problem-solving, and showed me how professional crews move when the work actually matters.
Working in those environments taught me early that strong images don’t come from luck. They come from systems, intentional lighting, and clean execution. Photography and video on professional sets depend on preparation and precision, and I learned how technical decisions affect final results long before I was regularly behind the camera. That production background continues to shape how I work today.
Over time I moved deeper into commercial photography, contributing to editorial projects, brand campaigns, and production-driven portrait work. My approach has always been rooted in the same principles I learned on set — organized workflow, thoughtful lighting, and reliable execution under real-world conditions.
After a decade in Los Angeles, I returned home to Kansas City to focus on photography that supports brands, organizations, and creative teams with clarity and care. Today my work centers on portraiture, editorial shoots, and commercial campaigns built on a strong foundation of lighting and production discipline.
Whether I’m behind the camera or working with a creative team to shape a project, the goal is simple: deliver visuals that work creatively, technically, and commercially.
I’m also the founder of KC Film Academy, a nonprofit focused on preparing the next generation of production professionals and strengthening the creative workforce in the Midwest.
My path into commercial photography didn’t start with glamour — it started in production environments where systems mattered more than aesthetics.
Working inside rental houses and studios in Los Angeles taught me how real productions move. Trucks loading in. Gear prepped under pressure. Lighting teams building efficiently. Deadlines that don’t bend.
That experience shaped how I approach photography today.
I don’t just show up with a camera. I show up understanding how a set should run.
Over the past decade, I’ve contributed to editorial campaigns, commercial productions, and large-scale brand shoots — gaining firsthand exposure to how professional teams execute under real constraints. That foundation informs everything I deliver now: structured workflow, clean lighting, and clarity under pressure.
Today, I operate as a commercial photographer based in Kansas City, focusing on lighting-driven portraiture and campaign work that feels intentional and controlled.
Beyond client work, I’m also the founder of KC Film Academy — a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening production standards and workforce readiness in the Midwest.
